Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary Deputy Editor who will be responsible for creating news and evergreen content, assisting with editorial duties, and working with the Editor to develop and execute one of our new website’s content strategy.
Core Tasks:
Create and support esports content strategy in conjunction with ESI’s Editor.
Develop our new website's evergreen strategy — schedules, roster updates, relevant tournament pieces, and listicles.
Update evergreen content when necessary.
Writing news and evergreen content.
Converse with PR contacts and esports stakeholders to boost news and evergreen content opportunities.
Assist with forward planning around major Esports events
Report to the Editor.
Take responsibility for the website’s performance and writers when the Editor is absent
Essential Requirements
Two to five years writing and editing experience within esports, gaming or an equivalent sector.
Native English speaker
Nice to have Requirements:
Good understanding of on page SEO
Experienced with WordPress
A profile within esports or the gaming industry
