Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and passionate Sports Writer to join our growing editorial team. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of various sports, a strong writing background, and the ability to create engaging content for our digital platforms. The Sports Writer will be responsible for covering sports topics, writing in-depth articles, and providing analysis on major sporting events. This role requires a proactive, creative, and deadline-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced, digital media environment.
Core Tasks:
Research and create well-researched, informative, and engaging content on trending sports topics
Work closely with the editorial team to generate content ideas and maintain content calendars
Optimize articles for SEO to maximize visibility and reach
Collaborate with other writers, editors, and the content team to ensure consistency and high-quality content
Contribute to special sports reports, interviews, and feature articles
Regularly review and adapt content to meet audience preferences and emerging trends
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in sports writing or journalism, preferably in digital media
Strong knowledge of sports, including football, basketball, tennis, and e-sports
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
Experience with SEO and content optimization
Ability to write engaging, clear, and concise articles under tight deadlines
Good research and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and fact-checking ability
Nice to have Requirements:
Experience in sports reporting or broadcasting
Knowledge of specific sports leagues or niche sports (e.g., niche e-sports, extreme sports)
Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms for promoting articles
Understanding of multimedia content creation (e.g., video, podcasts)
