The Head of HR will be responsible for leading the HR department, overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes.
This role is key to ensuring organisational effectiveness by developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with the business’s mission and strategic goals.
The Head of HR will support and enhance the organisation's human capital by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
What you will be doing:
Leadership and Strategic Management:
Develop and execute HR strategies and initiatives that align with the overall business strategy.
Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
Manage the recruitment and selection process.
Support current and future business needs through developing, engaging, motivating, and preserving human capital.
Policy Formulation and HR Operations:
Oversee and lead the annual HR strategy and planning.
Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organisation.
Nurture a positive working environment.
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
Manage complex employee relations casework, including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absences, retirement, and redundancy.
Budget and Resource Management:
Develop and manage the HR budget to ensure resources are effectively allocated.
Monitor expenditures related to HR, employer branding, and employee engagement initiatives.
Training and Development:
Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of appropriate training and development programs.
Talent Management:
Establish a sound management succession plan that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
Drive alignment between workforce and strategic needs.
The ideal candidate should have:
Qualifications in the field of HR and strong knowledge of Maltese labour laws and HR best practices across multiple regions.
At least three years of experience in a similar HR leadership role.
Proficiency in HR systems, experience using BambooHR will be an asset.
People-oriented and results-driven approach.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proven experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, and employee relations.
Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
